We gathered together on Friday May 22nd and began our weekend with prayer. Saturday morning May 23rd, we celebrated the Divine Liturgy at St. John Cassian Romanian Orthodox Church with the Fr. Iulian Anitei, Frs. Dumitru and Valentin Ilies. The young adults were the choir. Afterward the young adults attended lectures on being in the world but not of it. The day concluded with Vespers.
On Sunday morning May 24th, the youth attended Divine Liturgy at Holy Archangels’s Greek Orthodox Monastery. In the afternoon after fellowship, the young adults attended a lecture and discussion group with Presbytera Dorothea Anitei. It was lively and engaging discussion. The evening concluded with an Akathist to ROYA’s patron saint, St. Catherine. It was spiritually renewing to be together in Christian fellowship and love.
From our arrivals to the meals, games, discussions, prayers (especially the divine services) and little moments of fellowship, we became closer together. An amazing time! The weekend had reminded and reaffirmed that we are not alone. We are going to go through this life together, this is our Orthodox Faith, and we are companions on the road to Salvation.
Glory to God for all things!
