His Eminence Metropolitan Joseph,
Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America
Your Eminence,
It is with deep sadness that we have heard about the passing away of His Grace Antoun, our brother and concelebrant of the holy mysteries. His Grace was truly a devoted hierarch of the Antiochian Archdiocese serving in many capacities throughout his long and accomplished service to our Lord.
We have always felt blessed by his presence among the hierarchs at various gatherings, including the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of the United States of America. We know and appreciate his long friendship with the late Metropolitan Philip of Thrice-Blessed Memory, as well as with many of us, hierarchs, priests, and Orthodox faithful. The whole Orthodox family in the USA expresses thanksgiving to the Lord for the dedicated service of our brother Bishop Antoun.
On behalf of the priests and faithful of our Romanian Metropolia, please accept our sincere condolences. We pray our Lord Jesus Christ to establish his soul where the righteous repose. We assure you of our prayers for the soul of His departed servant Bishop Antoun.
May God rest his soul in peace!
† Metropolitan Nicolae
