Continuing the tradition of recent years, on March 17-19, 2023, with the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Nicolae and His Grace Bishop Ioan Casian, the AROLA spiritual retreat was organized with the theme "Bridge between generations". It took place in several locations in the US and Canada and started with the Divine Liturgy and continued with Panihida. The moment that united us all in one thought and spirit was the online conference entitled: "Treasuring and conforting the elderly - expression of spiritual and social maturity" held by Rev. Fr. Ionuț Tutea, Advisor at the Social-Philanthropic and Missionary Sector of the Archdiocese of Bucharest. The conference aimed not only to re-emphasize the needs of the elderly, but especially how to respond to their needs, followed by a series of questions and answers. The time given was not enough to share Father Țutea's experience. That is why we have proposed to organize another meeting in the near future.
After the online conference, different activities were held in each location where the experienced ladies showed their dexterity and talent by teaching those around them how to handle a needle. The skill of Romanian women's hands, which over the centuries have produced true works of art, has not been lost overseas either. The joy of being together in Christ and in the Church made time and space disappear, and the excitement of the unforgettable reunion came with the promise of "another time."
