The First Sunday of Great Lent is for the faithful of Holy Protection Orthodox Church in Houston, TX, always a day of rejoicing in our faith and sharing its joy by carrying the icons in procession around the Church while chanting and praying.
As the sun was setting, Orthodox faithful from all parts of the city and from all parishes attended Vespers. Again, we processed, clergy and faithful, exhibiting our icons and chanting hymns of praise to our living God.
