On Monday, January 30th, following a presentation by Executive Director, Kenneth Kidd, the Hierarchs of the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of the United States of America blessed FOCUS North America as an official Affiliate Ministry.

The Assembly reached this decision during their latest gathering at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Los Angeles, California, which opened with Vespers and a reception at the Cathedral on Saturday, January 28th. The reception featured a charity event where participants assembled 250 blessing bags of hats, socks, snacks, and essential items for those in need throughout Los Angeles. 

In accordance with its newly adopted Strategic Plan, FOCUS is developing new local outreach initiatives that will help more parishes across the country gain ownership of sustained, ongoing service work. The blessing and support of the Hierarchs is of paramount importance in this ministry.

The staff, Board of Directors, and all who are served by FOCUS ministries thank the Hierarchs of the Assembly for welcoming FOCUS as their newest Affiliate Ministry and we ask for their continued prayers as FOCUS equips parishes in owning and sustaining fruitful service to their community.
