The Romanian Orthodox Metropolia of the Americas is hosting the "Sfanta Filofteia" 2022 Orthodox Christian Summer Camp for children 7 – 14 years old. The camp will take place at the “Protection of the Mother of God” Monastery (4160 102nd Ave, Allegan, MI 49010 - www.sfantulacoperamant.org) with the support of volunteers from the parishes of the Metropolia.

The goal of "Sfânta Filofteia" Summer Camp is to familiarize the children with the Orthodox Christian faith and the traditional Romanian culture, along with activities carried out in the natural setting of the property. The program includes, among other things, participation at the religious services, children's Orthodox catechism, Romanian lessons, arts & crafts, outdoor activities and games, music classes, group discussions, hiking.

The program for the two weeks of camp is as follows:

-  Boys: July 9-16

- Girls: July 16-23

Applications need to be submitted using the following Google form: https://forms.gle/bYwDJS7GvW79GyGr9

Please register each child individually, even if they are participating in the same session.

IMPORTANT

·   Except for the volunteers, parents' participation at the camp is not allowed for logistical reasons.

·   For each child, a written recommendation (attached to the application or sent by email) from the parish priest with whom the family is in a spiritual connection is required.

·   Parents can get acquainted with the camp staff and visit the site on the first and last day of the camp.

·   To support camp expenses, the suggested donation is $200/child. Discounts will be provided to families with more children enrolled in the camp ($50 off, starting with the second child). Payment can be made on the first day of camp (cash or check for "Protection of the Mother of God Monastery").
