With the blessing of His Eminence NICOLAE, Archbishop and Metropolitan of the Americas, and the support and blessing of His Eminence TEOFAN, Metropolitan of Moldova and Bucovina and of His Eminence CALINIC, Archbishop of Suceava and Rădăuți, the Psaltic Choir “Sf. Ioan cel Nou” from Suceava will perform a concert of Romanian carols Sunday December 20, 2020 starting at 3pm EDT. The concert is hosted by The “Ion Irimescu” Art Museum from Fălticeni and will be streamed LIVE on Metropolia’s Facebook page and through the doxologia.ro portal.
The Psaltic Choir “Sf. Ioan cel Nou” consists of graduates and students of the Orthodox Theological Seminary "Mitropolitul Dosoftei" from Suceava. It was founded in 2013 with the blessing of the His Eminence PIMEN, Archbishop of Suceava and Rădăuți. The conductor and coordinator of the choir is Fr. Prof. Constantin Dan Magdalena - professor of Liturgical Studies at the Theological Seminary in Suceava. The words are not powerful enough to express the heartfelt joy we felt last year when several of these young men delighted us with the beauty of traditional Romanian carols.
This concert is part of the archdiocesan MISSION FUND program and aims to raise donations for the missions (new parishes) of our Metropolia that are going through difficulties, as well as for the pastoral work of Romanian communities in Latin America, and especially for the restoration of the wooden church of the parish “Sts. Constantine and Helena” from Caracas, Venezuela.
We invite you to fill your hearts with the grace of the Nativity of Our Lord and Savior this Sunday, December 20, 2020 starting at 3pm EDT through the Metropolia's Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/mitropolia.us.
